Dave (Homer) Holmes has put in some great work to bring us news of the Rooscote Raceway. I must admit that I was really impressed with the pictures of the track. I reckon that I will have to make the long journey up to see the action it looks unmissable. Don't forget to have a look at Dave's site (link at the end of the article).

Roosecote Raceway,
is situated at Barrow in Furness, on the Northwest coast of England, at the very southern
end of Cumbria.and is Home to the West Coast Banger Team Champions The Barmy Army! So
anyone visiting the Lake District is only a short drive away from some Exciting Banger and
Oval racing. |
| Although Banger/Oval racing has been at Barrow for over 20 years, Roosecote is a Brand New Venue. It is a beautifully made Short (very short) Smooth Oval Tarmac track, with steep banked Curves, and is totally unique. A kind of Mini Mini Daytona 280 Yds!!!!!!!!!!! Because of this though you get the Closest and most exciting Racing possible. I Honestly believe you will never experience anything like the sight and feel of the FII's stock Cars like you will at Roosecote. |

As a spectator You are only feet away
from the Race action, so you see, feel and hear the total Power and force of all the
Racing like never before. Banger's Smash only Feet away from you, Stock Cars Thunder past,
XR3's Scream By, you can see the Drivers as clear as if you were in the Passenger seat...
Awesome! To see the FII's etc screaming round the outside of the track is similar to
looking in on the Wall of Death!!!! The Safety Features are of the Best construction
around and give a real feel of confidence. No corners have been cut as far as Spectator
safety is concerned. |
| Likewise from a drivers point of view, Roosecote is as fun and safe a track as can be. The banked curve's take some Mastering but once you get the hang of it, it's Brilliant. There is a real sense of achievement attained, when you pass your first cars round the outside, knowing you are out driving them (Banger drivers disregard that bit? :>)) So if you are an away Driver and fancy strutting your stuff at Roosecote Raceway. |

We have formula's for:- Banger's, Saloon Stox, XR3's, Mini Stox, Adult 1400cc
Bombers, & the Exciting Rookie Bombers (Bangers) for 14-16 yr. olds. These Formula's
cater for all skill level's and pockets. The Day licence is £5 on the day, So just turn
up and race.
All Sundays 1 o'clock start unless
otherwise stated Sat night's 6pm
