National Bangers BBA Supreme Championship and Saloon Stockcars English
Championship
The 2006 National Banger BBA Supreme Championship saw the incredible run
of turnouts continue at Mildenhall with around 140 cars filling the pits
including visitors from every major promotion featuring a sizeable
Common Crusher and Stinkbridge entry. Car wise Jap interest was provided
by Bristol's 396 Scott Mowlam and 384 John Golden with a used Laurel and
smart Cressida respectively while 159 Mitchell Mills had the lone
Cortina, a smart estate. 785 James Ellis returned his Mk2 Granada
Minster for its third meeting while there were no less than 16 fresh Mk2
Granadas plus a very smart Mk1 for 188 Matt Fuller which was the top
car.
33 for the first heat with the train in superb condition despite the
rain that morning and the previous day. 137 Lee Turner hit fellow PRI
man 39 Jack King on the nose early doors while 425 Martin Stopher met
085 Dave Bonnett in similar fashion in an all Cavalier encounter while
48 Brian Redden (Granada) fired into 244 Colin Burnham (Cavalier).
Turner continued to hit the luckless Bonnett as 99 Scott Gough fired the
first shot form the Crusher nailing 400 Kevin Shinn as 147 Chris Detton
(Primera) stuffed 156 Micky Maskall. 391 Wayne Shinn (Primera) then gave
51 Simon Heilds a big hit but was decimated in turn by a cracking shot
from 98 Matt Harrison who was blown up seconds later by 400 Shinny. 99
Goffy turned round to attack 788 Dan Burton as 853 John Barnard (Primera)
stuffed the Cavalier of 530 Steve Mayes allowing 455 Rick Finney
(Granada) to nail the Spedeworth man. Shinny continued his rampage on
the Crushers by blasting 100 Richard Elly while 147 Grumpy attacked 485
Justin Nicholls and Stopher fenced Burnham. Shinny then put Finney away
but the latter shrugged it off to blow up 183 Bobby Wilmer leaving him
wide open for another massive hit from Shinny with Grumpy attacking the
Aftermath man in turn. 247 Lee Clarke ended the action by running in 853
the Verger as 60 Steve Laybourn (Cavalier) won from King and 460 Lewis
Barber in a PRI clear sweep.
32 for the second heat with 780 Darren Barnes in the wars at the start
as 96 Michael Hibbert and 8 Dale Woolnough (Cavalier) pounded him, 96
Hibbo continuing to help 128 Andy Lack in pummelling 388 Emmerson
Fairweather (Cavalier) while 249 Matt Frost attacked 313 John
Cullingford (Granada) as the luckless Barnes was T-boned by 366 Clive
Revell. 564 Mark Cooper (Granada estate) followed Woolnough in before
399 Darron Atkins (Volvo 240 estate) collected the vacated Revell
Bluebird trashing it. 753 Billy Cunningham (Granada) fenced 564 Coatie
but was nailed in turn by 401 Steve Hemmings (Volvo 240 estate) while
the spinning 58 Simon Warren (Volvo 240 estate) took a solid T-bone from
431 Shaun Abra and Coatie stuffed 363 Brian Jarvis' Cavalier while 217
Neil Smyth (Cavalier) did the same to 337 Ashley Garrod (Primera). A
recovered Warren nailed the smart Bluebird of 103 Paul Foreman but
copped a T-bone from 323 Paul Wilkes (Granada estate) for his efforts as
587 Alex Humphrey took the spoils ahead of 249 Frosty and Smyth.
Up to 37 for heat three with 207 Michael Woodward (Cavalier) hitting 76
Terry Mansfield (Volvo 240 estate) from the off as 409 Carl Pears (Volvo
240 estate) reversed hard into 411 Matthew Franklin (Mk3 Garanada) and
133 Ben Wyatt (Granada) put away 160 Perry Willings' Cavalier with 308
Del Bowen doing the same to 469 Martin Baxter (Accord). 215 Michael
Crocon then hit Willings on the nose, the latter taking further abuse
from 840 Dan Waddingham as 33 Warren Burnham (Primera) buried both 115
Gary Rose (Granada) and 42 Steve Prince (Mk3 Granada) in one nose. 384
Liam Conway threw his lead away to follow-in Blyton's 225 Nick Bull
before 553 Justin Garman inflicted similar punishment on 207 Compo. 712
Andy Westgate nailed Prince as Burnham stuffed 405 Neil Cornish with
Waddingham doing the same to the leading 761 Nat Cohn (Volvo 240). 807
Chris Murfin hammered 228 Dan Chaplin (Mk3 Granada) and continued with a
T-bone on Waddingham as the lively Conway put away both Mansfield and
115 Rosy with Waddingham firing back to hammer Chaplin. 133 Werzal
connected with a T-bone on 752 Sam Cunningham as Conway blasted the
luckless Chaplin only to take one in turn from Waddingham. Up front 17
Mark Anderson spun the leading Werzal and went on for the win ahead of
801 Jack Foster and 478 Mark Logan (Primera).
36 drivers assembled for the Supreme Final which saw as expected a fast
and furious affair with early spins for 188 Smoker and Ellis at the
hands of 159 Rubble and 331 Jason Jackson (Cavalier) respectively while
312 Tom Reynolds (Volvo 240) zeroed in on the spun 688 Wayne Morphett
(Granada) for a head-on while Smoker got going and dished out a stonking
head-on to the spun 199 Jamie Wyatt, no doubt in revenge for Werzal's
hit on the Runner at the English last July. 741 Luke Parfitt blew up
Stinkbridge's 450 Glyn Platts on the home straight as 310 John Nicholson
walloped 384 Goldie sending him into a complete roll. 312 Turbo weighed
in hard on Smoker as 364 Sean Winchester ran in 202 Mike Kilford
(Granada) and Ellis smashed into the home straight blocks hard. 557 Paul
Bowen turned his smart Cavalier around to attack Goldie as 148 Ian
Redden (Cavalier) followed 83 Andy Beaven's smart Granada into the pit
bend heap. 190 Steve Bailey then dangerously came inside out, seemingly
at 5 Anthony Crowshaw but instead hitting 191 Shaun McMillan who was
mercifully ok, 45 Lips then T-boning 190 Pikey a lap later but by this
point the car was empty. Having been handed pole from the Incarace draw
348 Sonny Sherwood (Cavalier) completed a flag to flag win ahead of 158
Shane Davies and 730 Dean Mayes.
35 cars for the first Allcomers with a large pile-up quickly forming on
the top bend as 180 Mark Foster attacked 712 Bulldog while King stuffed
both 445 Mark Dorrill (Granada) and Latham before Murfin stuck it to
Compo allowing 877 Adam Perrin (Granada) to run 93 Ady Chilvers' Civic
Shuttle into the latter. 715 Mick Prince (Granada) then clipped Perrin
which got him airbourne as Conway continued his fine showing by
following in Atkins a treat. Seconds later 180 Sparky did likewise to
712 Bulldog with a big hit as King met Cohn on the nose and 112 Tracey
Goodall (Primera) hit Perrin with Conway meeting the latter on the nose.
Frosty put away 307 Jon-Joe Cunningham (Granada) with the latter joining
his Gypsy Crew team mates in a top bend war against 431 Shaun Abra,
Murfin and Sparky while Goodall buried Jarvis en route to the flag ahead
of Frosty and 22 Dave Vincent (Granada).
A whopping field of 45 for the second Allcomers which was put dynamite,
The action began with 215 Chris Bull blasted Goffy only to be destroyed
by an absolutely titanic shot from Finney as Revell buried 171 Darren
Stanion and Platts hit 587 Humps on the nose allowing Shinny to nail the
Stinkbridge man as 120 Luke Burley stuffed 231 Stuart Dunn (Mk3 Granada
estate) and 156 Micky Boy hammered Mansfield with the reds then out for
128 Lacky who was in trouble on the back straight. The race resumed with
553 Garmo hitting 339 Ade Lightbown (Granada) on the nose as 331 Boxer
spun Werzal into Coatie and Winchester stuffed 247 Bro. Boxer now turned
round and hammered Werzal with a series of hits as 771 Rikki Roberts
blasted Coatie. 97 Glen Woodward put away 551 Stuart Franklin and
Winchester again put paid to Bro. Franklin then ran the Verger into
Garmo allowing Bro and Dunn to hammer the latter as 148 Shorty attacked
72 Rob Joyce. Boxer now met Chaplin on the nose allowing Waddington to
do the latter triggering a wrecking train with Turner, Winchester, Dunn
and Joyce all piling in, the latter rolling on impact but his was able
to exit and the action continued. Micky Boy singled out Dunn for a
T-bone as Bro hammered Stanion with Winchester blasting the latter which
fired him up to turn round and deliver a revenge hit on Bro. However
Stanion again fell foul of Winchester who delivered a wicked T-bone but
was nailed by Waddingham in turn. Wincheser shrugged it off to pick up
Bro and get him sideways with Stanion dishing out a large T-bone,
Winchester ending the action with another hit on Bro. Shorty took the
win with 83 Bubbs and Winchester the only other finishers.
With precious few cars still running the proposed third Allcomers was
dropped and the next race was the Accumulator which would go into a DD
with just 25 making it back for it. Hields got the ball rolling with a
stiff shot to the struggling 333 Alex Roberts (Sunny) but the former was
walled shortly after by Morphett as Bro blew up 391 Ol Matey (both
drivers having done well to repair) on the home straight with the
Spedeworth man dumped into his victim a lap later by Laybourn. Vincent
hammered the luckless Roberts allowing 133 Karl Day (Granada) to hand
out a big hit to the latter as Ellis buried Chilvers, the former then
getting a taste of his own medicine from Laybourn which also claimed
Bubbs. Frosty meanwhile stuck it to Foster with 133 Karly T-boning the
latter in turn as Ellis hammered Chilvers and Laybourn nailed Stu
Franklin. Vincent held of Winchester to win with Frosty third. The flag
fell for the DD with Karly and 273 Kevin McClagish (Volvo 240 estate)
sticking it to Laybourn as Ellis hammered Rosy before the reds came out
for a shaken Chilvers after a big hit from Winchester. We were soon
underway again with 273 Mad Mouse and Matt Franklin meeting on the nose
as Karly stuffed Winchester. Hields then met Karly in a big head-on on
the top bend which sent the former into a full roll with Winchester then
dishing out a T-bone as soon as he landed on his wheels! Wllis hammered
Roberts and Winchester put away Rosy with Ellis the piling the latter
head-on in Winchester. Latham attacked Ellis with two then meeting
head-on finishing the both and gifting Rosy the win. At that points
Bubbs fired back into life and so the action continued with the
Autospeed young gun and Rosy ending the night with a solid back straight
head-on.

An excellent field of 49 Saloon Stockcars gathered for the English
Championship with the entry boosted by a fine 12 car entry from the west
country.
28 cars for an explosive opening heat with a false start when 219 Luke
Grief wasn't ready to go. 317 Dwayne Powell was the first spinner when
the racing began with 912 Andi Newman setting the pace as 368 Steve
Santry turfed aside 528 Ian Govier and 438 Tony Lay had 224 Mark Calvert
around before 512 Darren Barnett completed the west country misery by
spinning 87 Barry Richards. 441 Phil Martin then removed 2 Paul Tuppen
which claimed 382 Danny Hunt, 27 Roy Fuller and 677 Eddie Darby
triggering a pit bend pile-up. 403 Ashley Foulsham grabbed the lead on
lap six as Newman spun the luckless Govier. There was another lead
change on lap seven as 419 Luke Grief moved through while Lay continued
having Barnett out as 156 Darren Goudy spun 149 Jamie Sampson. More
action followed as 402 Shaun Webster buried Calvert which claimed 377
Mick Oslar and 513 Ross Dawson with 569 James Radcliffe then hooking out
Govier which claimed Lay as 305 Nigel Parker slammed 207 Darren Bradford
into the wall. Clive Grief then spun Dawson which caused problems for
both Parker and 677 Eddie Darby as 111 Darryle Goddard slammed Santry
into the wall. Luke Grief held on for the win ahead of 420 Ivan Street
and defending champion 511 Craig Barnett with marshals tackling a blaze
for 964 Kenny Peters after the race.
Up to 32 for the second heat which started with 369 Andy Santry spinning
2 Paul Tuppen as Luke Grief attacked 84 Lizzy Crowden-Murfin as 525
Jason Elvin spun and Bradford squeezed 401 Steve Webster into the wall
as 26 Tommy Barnes removed 468 Kelvin Nichols. There were more spins for
562 Trevor Gray and Newman with the latter incident handing 86 Simon
Royal the lead ahead of 999 Vic Walding and Barnes. 417 Fred Powell
removed Dawson with the latter clobbered by 499 Dave Aldous before he
got out of the way while 27 Roy Fuller smashed into the inner wall hard.
Walding spun from his lofty spot as 428 Lee Sampson stuffed Andy Santry
who quickly recovered to spin Walding before he clobbered the spinning
Calvert. 428 Lee Sampson moved into the lead and then spun Newman as he
took the flag ahead of Barnes and 156 Darren Goudy.
Just 24 for the final heat but still the action came with a lively start
seeing 199 Phil Powell spin Crowden-Murfin as Darren Barnett did the
same to Steve Santry while Walding led from Royal before the latter was
spun by a back marking Hunt who continued to have 106 Jamie Stafford
round leaving the latter stranded by the start line and prompting a red
flag and a complete restart. Stafford was in the wars again on the
restart coming under attack from 311 Steve Newman with 720 Shane Brown
then walling the latter as Fred Powell removed Govier. Steve Webster
then spun 150 Andy Parrin which also claimed Andy Santry and Darren
Barnett as Nichols took the top spit from Walding on lap four. Parker
slowly reeled him in and they exchanged the lead a couple of times on
lap 14 before Nichols was able to get away while behind them a spinning
Street was clobbered by Darby and Darren Barnett spun the second and
third placed Parker and Walding in one move giving Nichols a clear run
to the flag ahead of Brown and Darby.
27 qualifiers returned for the English Championship with Darby and Shaun
Webster sharing the front row having scored the most points in the heats
and it was the latter who grabbed the early lead as Darren Barnett had a
pop at Steve Webster. There were spins for Richards, Hunt and 377 Mick
Oslar as Lee Sampson leapt to second and Goudy took a pop at Steve
Santry and Parker removed Lay as Nichols spun aside Walding. 499 Dave
Aldous moved into third and then on lap 13 he claimed second as
elsewhere Bradford spun Luke Grief. Lee Sampson cruelly retired with a
flat as on the home straight Andy Santry and Steve Newman spun causing
Bradford to slam flat out into the inner wall. Aldous removed Craig
Barnett in the fight for second as Shaun Webster motored to another
title ahead of Aldous and Darby.

A quality night's action with some storming stuff from both formulas
with some lively and hard hitting racing plus two very fast and
competitive championship races. However there were downsides, 190
Pikey's dubious hit in the Supreme causing alarm and while the decision
to scrap a planned Allcomers for both the Saloon Stockcars and National
Bangers was disappointing it was apparent that neither race would have
been well subscribed owing to the action levels earlier in the night.
Mildenhall Stadium March 25 2006
2Litre Bangers and BriSCA F2 Stockcars
The first 2litre banger bash of the season at Mildenhall drew a simply
staggering field of 152 cars on March 25 including visitors from far and
wide with PRI, TSR, Incarace, Spedeworth and Startrax represented plus
Skegness and GMP in the shape of three Common Crushers and Stinkbridge's
455 Rick Finney. Car wise there was a smattering of interest with BMW's
from 129 Dan Chaplin and 602 Shaun Cooper with a 316 and used 518
respectively, 313 John Cullingford debuted a Stellar and 791 Nicky Young
returned a well battered Vectra. 401 Steve Hemmings paraded a Mondeo
while further Ford interest included two Capris from 124 Johnny Rookard
and 214 Tony Abrehart while there was an outbreak of Cortinas with fresh
examples from 169 Len Brinkley, 393 Jeff Smith, 197 Andy Ashman, 378
Steve Smith, 138 Tom Meekings, 14 Colin Lacey, 462 Chris Nero, 753 Billy
Cunningham, 573 Ollie Edwards and a nice Mk3 for 99 Ritchie Ahern. Going
better still though was a Cressida for 446 Lee Greer and an A60
Cambridge for 813 Mick Cotton.
40 cars for the opening heat with 379 Danny Evans on the case straight
away as he ran in 455 Luke Cornish who shrugged it off to T-bone 611
Gavin Harris as Evans continued to stuff TSR's 58 Danny Day allowing 503
Vic Manning to blast the former with the Rude Boy then fencing 813
Mayhem as 137 Lee Turner inflicted similar punishment to 879 Reg Reed.
511 Helen Licquorice then piled 411 Matt Franklin into Meekings allowing
380 Bradley Evans to hammer Licquorice while PRI young gun 4 Mark
Burroughs buried 504 Carl Smee only to suffer a similar fate from
Turner. 326 Shane Lynn the walled 121 Dave Wright as 462 Panel Wacka
treated 244 Colin Burnham to a T-bone and 39 Jack King fired into
Franklin while the luckless Wright was fenced by the impressive Danny
Evans. A pile-up then formed on the top bend as a recovered Wright was
put away again, this time by 526 Marc Warner, the latter then falling
prey to a psycho lunge from Bradley Evans which saw the latter hit the
wall hard. Franklin then nailed 526 2-Bob with 771 Ricky Roberts then
running Common Crusher 99 Scott Gough hard into the passenger doors of
2-Bob which knocked the latter out and brought the reds out although he
quickly recovered and was able to drive away. King was declared the
winner ahead of Turner and 849 Mick Lown.
Up to 45 cars for the second heat with a simply massive pile-up
engulfing the top bend in which 22 Dave Vincent was stuffed by 603 Jon
Cooper as 679 Tom Williams homed in on 472 Mike Wood and 37 Dave Lewis
buried 602 Mr Moody. 249 Matt Frost then put paid to 588 Andy Becker as
400 Kevin Shinn singled out 560 Andy Potter for a head-on only to be
buried in turn by 730 Deane Mayes while 229 Ritchie Holmes landed a shot
on returnee 8 Vince Wolf and 131 Barry Wade treated 313 Cully to a
T-bone. 525 Wes Starman then ran in Wood as 249 Frosty connected on
Chaplin and a recovered Vincent buried 98 Matt Harrison with Cully doing
the same to 807 Chris Murfin as the luckless Chaplin was hammered by
both Harrison and Holmes. Starman continued with a T-bone on Abrehart
allowing the luckless Harrison to nail the Capri on the nose while 43
Rob Boswell put away 131 Wadey. Starmar continued his performance with a
hit on Cully while 603 the Younger Hitman assaulted 730 Deano. 112
Tracey Goodhall came through for the win ahead of Frosty and Murfin.
An insane field of 64 cars filled the track to capacity for the final
heat which was pure carnage as expected. 156 Micky Maskall got things
going by running in 9 Paul Brown with 619 Karl Turnbull T-boning the
latter as 712 Andy Westgate met 385 Roy Gedge on the nose and 88 Ashley
Burton stuck 79 Ricky Twell away and brother 788 Dan Burton did the same
to 58 Simon Warren. 791 Spud stuffed 585 Kevin Giles as 432 Mark Munson
dished out a solid hit to Edwards only to take one in turn from Spud as
204 Andy Bailey turned round to pound 183 Bobby Wilmer and 169 Lenny Boy
met 338 Terry Garrod on the nose. 712 Bulldog stuffed 752 Sam Cunningham
and 125 Lee Overy did the same to Smith as 485 Justin Nicholls nailed 17
Mark Anderson before Crusher 742 Ian Gregory gave 271 Dean Goodall a big
hit.19 Joe Mullarkey and 547 Tony McNeil went head to head as did 99 the
Cheat and Munson with 79 Twelly then running in 541 Scott Rayner as the
expected pile-up finally came, filling the pit bend. Edwards gave 125
Hitler one on the nose as 119 Davey Cox continued his feud with 117 Karl
Dack with a solid shot while 547 Jon Reynolds buried Spud and before
meeting 188 John Reeves on the nose. Bailey then crashed into 158 Shane
Davies but was fenced in turn by 485 Fiasco with 401 Psycho then running
Bailey in hard as Hitler turned round to blow up 547 the BFA with a big
hit. Davies buried Giggler 262 Kevin Lee and 752 Mad Sam did the same to
169 Lenny Boy with 188 Victor firing into the Gypsy Crew man in turn as
119 Cruncher pounded Lee with a T-bone. 33 Hayden Bennett and 188 Victor
piled into Davies, Victor then enjoyed a head-on with Hitler which
allowed 753 Young Gun to nail Hitler as Psycho inflicted more damage to
the luckless Lee. Despite loosing a wheel in the final laps 752 Mad Sam
made it through for the win with 33 Don finding a quicker way through
the heap on the last bend to steal second from Davies.
Still 40 repaired for the consolation which kicked off with 25 Andy
Rookard blasting 219 Rob Beavis before 364 Sean Winchester fired into
148 Ian Redden piling the latter head-on into Hitler as 501 Steve Rolph
scored on Harrison and Williams met 13 Nigel Burchan on the nose before
400 Shinny blew up 324 Mark Latham with a fierce hit as a pile-up formed
on the top bend while Finney zeroed in for a storming length of the
straight shot on Shinny as the reds came out for a shaken Latham. The
race resumed with Rookard hammering 655 Lloyd Mullins as Finney met
Rolph on the nose with Winchester dishing out a solid hit to the
Stinkbridge man in turn as 378 Pocket gave Rolph a stiff hit over the
rear wheel. 148 Shorty then planted 14 Babyface into 545 Karl Hough as
17 Mark Anderson attacked the already wrecked Shinny. Pockets then
turned round to enjoy head-ons with 545 Huffy and Mullins while the
second placed Shorty was stopped by a stiff head-on from Winchester, the
former then meeting Rookard in similar fashion allowing 128 Andy Lack to
blast the latter. Meanwhile Young Gun survived a head-on from the
Younger Hitman and a dodgy inside out attack from Pockets to win with
391 Wayne Shinn the only other finisher.
Amazingly 30 of the 31 qualifiers made it back out for the final with 43
Batty the first to show as he walled Lynn and Psycho attacked Fiasco
while 99 Goffy ran in Young Gun allowing King to hit the latter as 391
Ol' Matey assaulted 345 Richard Lown. Harrison also weighed in on Young
Gun as Psycho continued by following in 15 Lee Weeks before 752 Mad Sam
met Lenny Boy on the nose and Frosty hit the luckless Weeks allowing Ol'
Matey to do the latter on the nose, these two continuing to exchange
hits in another chapter of the Gypsy Crew and Aftermath feud. Psycho
meanwhile buried Deano and nailed Starman as Murfin fired into the
Younger Hitman. Psycho again punished Starman with a T-bone but then
found his Mondeo on the wrong end of a head-on from Vincent which shoved
the Predator up the blocks at the end of the home straight leaving him a
sitting duck for a titanic revenge T-bone from Starman which knocked
Psycho out and brought the race to an early finish with Turner the
winner ahead of Goodhall and Frosty.
Despite all the previous action and the race not starting until gone
11pm 32 cars returned for the Accumulator which started with 539 Danny
Allen burying 303 Wayne Linsdale from the off as Batty did the same to
394 Ian Rawlins while 504 Carl Smee lined up Huffy for a solid hit only
to take one in turn from 562 Gavin Barnes. Mad Sam met Ashman on the
nose while 116 Mark Want dished out a good hit to 62 Graham Rainbow
before 119 Cruncher turned round to blast Smee. On the home straight
Smith's Cortina sparked up as Gedge nailed Twelly only to take a big hit
in turn from Potter with Linsdale then blasting the latter only to be
T-boned in turn by Cruncher as Mad Sam hit Linsdale. Batty again stuck
it to Rawlins as Cruncher blasted 116 Wanty head-on and Garrod attacked
Batty. Wanty now came under fire from 619 Rhino as a recovered Batty hit
Garrod on the nose and Huffy T-boned Gedge. Mad Sam pipped team mate 785
James Ellis on the final lap to win with Davies third. Into the demo
with 285 Sean Dyer doing Batty from the off as Finney met Reynolds in a
large head-on. Vincent then T-boned Batty and duly came under fire from
a recovered Reynolds as Finney now met Lewis on the nose only to take
one in turn from Cruncher as Ellis blasted Batty. Lewis gave Finney a
revenge T-bone with Ellis also attacking the latter as Davies scored on
Lewis. Ellis was silenced by hits from Shinny and Batty with the
Aftermath man continuing to batter Davies and Cruncher with head-ons to
take the win, the latter compensated with the best wrecker prize.

Lewis Geech and 667 Tim Farrell while 683 Ian Marsh made his return and
559 Bert Finnikin finally raced his stunning retro-special.
19 for the opening heat with 999 Dave Savage the night's first spinner
as 284 Jody Griffin led from 611 Jason Horner and 400 Dave Sharp before
49 John Davies rode up the side of 414 Mark Veall and they crashed out
in a heap. Sharp meanwhile moved into second as the third placed 379
Stuart Cayzer came under attack from a recovered Davies. 606 Andy Palmer
was on the move and was up to fifth by half way before Griffin
disappeared with mechanical gremlins handing Sharp the advantage on lap
nine but Palmer tore passed him on lap 12 and motored to the win. 13
Andy Ford's hard work was for nothing as he crashed out with Cayzer when
challenging for the top three. 515 Alan Veall claimed second while Sharp
drove well to hang on for third.
One more for the second heat with 519 Stephen Lawrence giving 924 Martin

Ricky Wilson and Lawrence enjoyed a thrilling battle for the lead
chopping and changing the top spot several times before Wilson broke
clear on lap five with 756 Phil Kaye then emerging as his main threat
but he had to fight Gardner hard for the position. 802 Dean Simpson had
702 Allan Cooper round before the reds came out for a wheel which had
fallen from the 191 Jon Wittle Jnr car bringing the race to an early
conclusion which was incredibly fortunate for Wilson as the result was
taken from the last completed lap and he took the win despite just
losing the top spot to 103 Carl Issit who had to be content with second
and Kaye third.
Down to 18 for the last heat with 304 Jamie Huntington setting the pace
as 156 James Joyce attacked 448 John Wright before 208 Dave Hemstock
took over at the front and 376 Darren Seneschall removed 298 Mick
Stubbs. 262 Trevor Buckley eased into second and then dived for the lead
when Hemstock collected a spinning Stubbs but Buckley also went round
gifting 70 Brian Shadbolt the lead. 260 Anthony Winters then spun out of
second as 290 James Waterfall took out Finnikin who had been getting
quicker and quicker as the race unfolded. 597 Barry Clou then clipped
the stationary Huntington car with Moodie suffering a similar fate with
Senechall putting the bumper in to finish Moodie and take his third
away. Shadbolt meanwhile held off a closing 748 Jason Irvine to win with
392 Mark Short completing a yellow grade clean sweep in third.
A much larger field of 32 cars assembled for the consolation with
Griffin attacking Horner from the off as Stubbs spun. Griffin emerged as
the pace setter before a three car pile-up claimed Waterfall, Marsh and
rookie 623 Rob Dobie while Cayzer removed Joyce and Finnikin took a big
hit on the pit bend tearing a wheel of the latter and bringing the reds
out. Griffin led the restart ahead of Pearson and 274 Trevor Bonnett as
Waterfall again became a victim of a small pile-up as elsewhere 798 Mark
Sargent and Cayzer went round. Ford was again on a charge moving up to
13th in just three laps as Buckley and Kemp both spun and up front
Bonnet moved into second with Joyce then taking third while Ford gave
Seneschall a big shot as he continued to work up the chart. At half way
Griffin still held a healthy lead over Bonnett and Joyce with the latter
soon taking second but his attack on Huntington cost him much time and
he disappeared from the lead group. The lively Seneschall removed
Savidge as Griffin romped to the win ahead of 414 Mark Veall and Ford.
Two of the 30 qualifiers failed to grid for the final which impressively
ran without a stoppage. 662 Steve Wytcherly broke away into the early
lead as 231 Matt Clayton and Shadbolt crashed out by the start line.
Winters and Sharp emerged as the front runners chasing Wytcherly with
589 Colin Eardley giving Sharp a good hit in the battle over third. Ford
was again making fine progress as the lead red and was up to eighth by
lap five while Mark Veall secured sixth two laps later as the first blue
on the charts. Griffin then spun Winters aside as 19 Martin Ford went
round. Eardley and 515 Alan Veall moved into second and third as Issit
moved up a gear and raced into fourth while further down the order
Davies spun Gardner to take ninth. Back up front and Issit made a
determined attack on Alan Veall for second which he eventually got and
then enjoyed a great battle with 871 Mark Simpson for the spot as Kaye
spun Dean Simpson who hit the wall hard but not before spinning Winters
in turn. However there was no catching Wytcherly who didn't put a foot
wrong en route to an impressive win, Issit beating Mark Simpson in the
race to second. The reds then came straight out to tend to Kaye who was
shaken after getting clobbered by the pack.
More than 40 cars came out for the Grand National which in truth was far
too many and as expected a huge pile-up formed exiting the top bend
after a lap or so leading to the first stoppage and there was more
casualties on the second restart with another blockage on the pit bend
in which Savidge took a beating and was knocked out to bring the reds
out again. The second restart was the last with early spins form 267
Dave Teal, Irvine and Wilson as Palmer turfed aside Mark Simpson.
Winters made the early running ahead of Sargent and Joyce while 702
Allan Cooper made an excellent start moving into seventh in just three
laps with Andy Ford not far behind as he moved into eighth by lap five
but by flag fall they could only reach third and fourth respectively. Up
front a thrilling finish saw Joyce give the leading Winters a hit on the
final bend which sent him spinning, Joyce winning from Sargent.

A storming night's action despite the threatening rain all night which
was limited mainly to just spots at various points during the night.
However the monster turn out and massive grids did come at a price with
the DD not finishing until just after 11.30pm which may have been
improved had the fields in the banger heats been a little more even and
the Grand National not been as over subscribed. Still a memorable
night's action from both formulas.
Dover Raceway Sunday March 19 2006
2Litre Bangers, Bangerstox, Super Rods and Ministox
A more than expected and very decent field of 27 2litre bangers assembled
for the first Dover of the year on March 19 although 155 Shelly Willis'
smart Cavalier failed to race with the entry boosted by five Mildenhall
visitors. Car wise the field was dominated by Bluebirds with a handful of
Cavaliers and a Sunny coupe while the RWD entry was restricted to a used
Mk5 Cortina and a pair of Mk3 Granadas.
Just 23 cars for the opener which started with 484 Gary Harvey (Sapphire)
fencing 20 Andy Burbridge as 169 Tony George did the same to 271 Michael
Doel (Mk3 Granada) as 303 Jodie Walker (Sapphire) crashed up the pit bend
banking as did 349 Lee Saunders which triggered a massive pit bend pile-up
in which 239 Andy Swift (Mk3 Granada) clobbered 484 Baloo before a
recovered 349 Finbarr run in 285 Sean Dyer with 15 Lee Weeks (Cavalier)
giving a late assist, 239 Swifty weighing in for a hefty T-bone on Dyer as
Weeks continued by burying 263 Brian Willis (Sunny coupe). 583 Dan Weeks
then hit 101 Ian Norris and a recovered Willis hit 500 Bill Wenham
(Cortina) who fired back to hit 169 Tony George as a fired up Dyer run in
10 Sam Topley and then turned Finbarr into the wall. Topley's rough ride
continued as Dan Weeks buried him with 4 Robin Miles taking a flag to flag
win ahead of 188 John Reeves and 158 Shane Davies.
Just one less for the second heat which began with head-ons between Lee
Weeks and Willis and 785 James Ellis and Walker, the latter then taking
more stick from 271 Mol as a recovered Willis hit 60 David Moon, the
latter coming back only to be fenced again by 349 Finbarr with 80 Gavin
Wood (Cavalier) T-boning the latter in turn while Mol buried 185 Paul
Bailey (Cavalier) only to take a stiff hit from Dan Weeks in turn as Lee
Weeks fenced the luckless Moon. 131 Barry Wade T-boned the spinning Wood
on the back straight, the latter then getting fenced by Finbarr as Norris
won from Miles with Davies just holding Ellis off for third. The race
ended with George burying Lee Weeks just before the reds coming out, the
latter landing a revenge blow in reverse.
22 for a cracking final which started with Swifty burying Dyer a Bailey
blasted 500 Wild Bill Wenham and Baloo put away 59 Nathan Port and 60
David Moon in one move allowing Swifty to T-bone Baloo with the Metal
Wrecker then delivering a second, much harder T-bone to the Management
man. 20 Andy Burbridge stuffed Finbarr only to come under fire from Wild
Bill in turn but he had his Cortina blown up by 266 Ray Williams, the
latter then following Walker in full chat on the bottom bend as 20 Baldy
took Dyer round the pit bend wall. Davies then stuffed Mol allowing 266
Slippery to dish out a meaty head-on to the latter who recovered only to
come under fire from Baldy who ended the action by piling Dyer into
Swifty's vacated motor. Norris took his second win of the day ahead of
Miles and Davies.
Just 10 returned for the Accumulator dash and demo with Wild Bill on the
case in the race attacking George and Norris allowing Slippery to nail the
Metal Wrecker in turn. Davies turned Mol up the wall with the latter then
doing a full roll off the inner banking allowing Wild Bill to belt him
leaving him open for another package from Slippery which finally finished
the Cortina. Miles held on for his second win ahead of Davies and Norris.
Into the demo with Slippery hitting Mol on the nose, prompting the latter
to ram George before the lively Slippery delivered a big head-on to Moon
only to take one himself from Norris as Wood hit Moon. Norris finished
George with a T-bone before the former met Moon in a big head-on allowing
Wood to blast the latter which looked like it was enough to give Wood the
win but he then expired just as Slippery fired up and he took a lap run up
before giving an obliging Wood a stonking head-on to take the win.
Heat one: 4 Robin Miles, 188, 158, 785, 346, 169, 15, 285, 500, 20
Heat two: 101 Ian Norris, 4, 158, 785, 131, 346, 185, 349, 285, 15

DD: 266 Ray Williams from 80
A fine field of 42 cars gathered for the opening round of the Bangerstox
track championship and as with most season openers it was great to see so
many new names in action.
23 cars for the opening heat although 15 Jay Powell was a non starter. 51
Colin Boswell led the opening laps ahead of a great scrap for second
between 61 Ken Hollamby, 46 Pete Gaynor and 2 Fred Drayner as problems
developed on the bottom bend when 261 Steve Willis spun and was collected
by several cars throughout the race causing numerous pile-ups. Drayner
finally moved into second and took the lead shortly after half way and
quickly opened a lead as both 95 Richard Punyer and 19 Glenn Cook spun,
the former piling up the bank as 68 Steve Morse also went around. Hollamby
moved into second only to then clip a dead car and lose time as Boswell
and 27 Steve Cork tangled and crashed out while battling for second.
Drayner won by over half a lap with Hollamby beating Gaynor home for
second.
15 graded cars for the second heat lead away by 78 Bobby Miles from 32
Darren Clarke and 89 Ben McGonnell and it stayed that way for the majority
of the race as elsewhere 94 Mick Acheillous and 5 Kurt Martin spun. An
incredible finish saw Miles and Clarke race the final two laps side by
side with nothing more than a fag paper between at the flag, Clarke
getting the nod. A frantic scramble at the finish saw 67 Alan Colyer take
third with 87 Robin Miles and 1 Trevor Poile finishing a fine fourth and
fifth from the back.
Drama at the start of heat three as rookie 81 Drew Baines rolled leading
to a complete restart. 23 Tony Hutton led the restart ahead of 19 Glenn
Cooke and 93 Mandy Richmond as 97 Lee Holden went spinning as did 95
Richard Punyer and 261 Steve Willis. Hutton the collected the stricken 47
Jason Hind car gifting Cooke the lead at half way but he got bogged down
in back markers on the final lap and Hutton was able to nip through and
hold off Hollamby for the win with Cooke having to settle for third,
Drayner taking seventh from the back.
14 cars for the final heat with 94 Mick Acheillous not putting a foot
wrong and taking a flag to flag win despite the increasing pressure from
89 Ben McGonnell in the closing laps while behind them a thrilling battle
developed for third which led to a frantic finish in which 78 Bobby Miles
was sent spinning and 87 Robin Miles grabbed the spot, ahead of fellow
star men 1 Trevor Poile after they had battled together up the order
throughout the race. Bobby Miles recovered for eighth.
19 qualifiers for the final which was led away by 26 Anthony Williams with
19 Glen Cooke quickly moving into second as major trouble developed up
front when Williams got out of shape and hit 93 Mandy Richmond first
triggering a pile-up on turn four but most of the field battled through
although the upshot was smaller pile-up at the end of the home straight
involving Richmond, 27 Steve Cork, 78 Bobby Miles and 89 Ben McGonnell,
the latter suffering a lot of damage in the crash. The race continued with
the field going on both sides of the heap until the reds were eventually
called and a restart issued which sadly started without the leading 90
Graham Cobell. 87 Robin Miles eventually took up the running with 1 Trevor
Poile clicking on his heels as they crossed the line with 61 Ken Hollamby
third.

A strong field of 17 cars assembled for the first track championship round
of the Super Rods with a very different line up to 2005. 17 Derek Ledger,
74 Matt Ovenden, 47 Jim Fisher, 35 Brian Dunn and 2 Fred Drayner all
switched from Bangerstox (although the latter was racing in both classes),
85 Jack Miles made a full time return and 16 Danny Wenham debuted.
All 17 cars for the opening heat with 16 Danny Wenham hitting the fence
early doors as fellow rookie 47 Jim Fisher spun and 17 John Lingham also
hit the fence as 2 Fred Drayner set the pace ahead of 75 Marc Anderson
while 99 James Keep quickly worked his race to third only to cruelly
retire soon after as 70 Garrie Martin passed Drayner for the lead and he
held his nerve to take a fine win. Behind him 77 Mark Shingleton came out
on top in a thrilling battle for second, a fine effort from the back of
the grid, with 10 Sam Topley right on his tail as they crossed the line
and 85 Jack Miles passing Drayner in the dying laps for fourth while 35
Brian Dunn narrowly held off 41 Peter Emson in the race for seventh.
A full field again for heat two which started with a tangle between 35
Brian Dunn and 85 Jack Miles before a spinning 117 John Lingham causing a
pile-up which broke the field up and handed 47 Jim Fisher a big lead as
Shingleton hit the wall after a tangle with Emson. 74 Matt Ovenden, 75
Marc Anderson and 70 Garrie Martin enjoyed a great race for third as
Shingleton started to work his way up the order. Dunn then spun Topley
causing him to be taken out of the results as the stricken Lingham was
collected by 15 John Trevylan leaving the former in trouble and bringing
the race to an early conclusion in favour of Anderson from Miles and
Martin for a white top clean sweep with Shingleton again doing a fine job
from the back in fifth.
15 for the final led away by Dunn as Fisher quickly worked his way to
second only to then spin after a tussle with Anderson which promoted
Martin who managed to get passed Dunn on lap 12 as Shingleton again showed
rapid form moving into fourth but then getting passed by Emson who held on
for second behind Martin with Shingleton third.
Heat one: 70 Garrie Martin, 77, 10, 85, 2, 15, 35, 41, 75, 28

A reasonable field of 15 Ministox gathered for their first Dover outing of
2006 including two visitors, 572 AJ Taylor from PRI and the now Spedeworth
173 Jack Harrington. 372 Kyle Tuppen and 370 Kyle Overy made their track
debuts while 385 Mitchell Miles made his Ministox debut.
All out for a very lively opener which saw 369 James Clements and 305
Robin Ash find the wall early doors as did 387 Olly Ovenden before 396
Chip Howland, 381 Craig Upson and 371 Jason Cobbold all crashed into the
fence in a heap together leaving 320 Ben Burbridge to lead until 312 Sam
Shepherd spun him for the top spot. 369 Rude Boy again clashed heavily
with Ash as Howland piled into the stricken Ovenden as Taylor removed 337
George Forbes. Harrington then moved into the lead as Taylor attacked 320
Greedy and 371 Smiler used the bumper to move Harrington wide and went on
for the win with Shepherd hanging on for third.
One less for heat two but a messy start saw Ash spin Upson on the rolling
lap and so a complete restart was ordered. Shepherd led the restart as
Smiler flicked out Ash and then gave Rude Boy a big hit as Smile motored
into the lead on lap four and romped to the win, Harrington spinning
Taylor en route to second and Shepherd third for a repeat of the heat one
result with Ash sparking up on the field at the end. Tuppen meanwhile
excelled with a fine fourth, easily his best result on only his second
meeting.
One less again for the final with Greedy heading the pack as Howland gave
Upson some attention and Miles spun into the banking at the end of the
back straight. Harrington worked his way into the lead by lap four and
withstood the pressure and front bumper of Smiler for several laps before
the latter got passed on the inside, Harrington landing a big last bend
hit forcing Smiler wide but he had the speed coming out of the bend to
narrowly beat Harrington to the line for the hat trick with Rude Boy in
third while Greedy came out on top in a fine battle for seventh between
himself, Upson and Ovenden.
Heat one: 371 Jason Cobbold, 173, 312, 370, 369, 320, 396, 372, 305, 385

Grand Final: Cobbold, 173, 369, 370, 312, 372, 320, 381, 387, 364
A fine start to the season with good entries and good action from all four
classes, if the rest of the meetings at Dover this year are as good we
should be in for a fine season.
Mildenhall 11th March

Hough. 158 Shane Davies took a fine full conatct win from the back ahead
of Weeks and 53 Dave Palmer.
A bigger field of 34 for heat two but it was quieter. The action started
with a head-on between 809 Paul Turner and 602 Mr Moody as a spun 543
Lukey Boy fired into 171 Darren Stanion and 161 Karl Totham tagged 504
Carl Smee. A top bend pile-up claimed several before 183 Bobby Wilmer
blasted the luckless Stanion and 93 Ady Chilvers sparked. up. The only
action in a quiet few laps saw 308 Del Bowen hit the spun 715 Mick Prince
on the nose as 547 Jon Jo Reynolds took ab untroubled win from Turner and
807 Chris Murfin.
A similar sized field for the third heat which started in style as 148 Ian
Redden thundered in 730 Deane Mayes ending his race before the former
T-boned the spun 694 Gary Owen. 233 Rob Aldridge did the same to 712 Andy
Westgate while the luckless Owen took further stick from 879 Reg Reed and
400 Kevin Shinn buried 188 John Reeves. The reds then came out to rescue
an upturned 364 Sean Winchester with the race restarting with 400 Shinny
who had a fire extinguished during the stoppage. The action resumed with
180 Jack Foster thumping 285 Carl Victory before 879 Wrecked Reg blew up
Owen. 337 Ashley Garrod then thundered in Victory with the latter taking a
hard hit from Shinny a lap or so later with the Aftermath man continuing
to run in 579 Ben Bland as 180 Mark Foster took the chequered ahead 4 Mark
Burroughs and 583 Robin Gaskett.
Just 25 for the final heat with 292 Keith Saunders hitting 117 Kamikaze
fromn the off as 877 Adam Perrin buried new signing 562 Gavin Barnes and
Saunders continued with a package on Lee. 117 Kamikaze then turned round
and met 665 Stu Scarlett in a stiff head-on as 445 Mark Dorrill buried 326
Shane Lynn. Perrin now hit Kamikaze on the nose as Lee took a psycho lunge
on 560 Andy Potter but more Armco than target. Scarlett then connected on
748 Graham Kiddle as Potter sparked up but continued to finish eighth as a
lurking Kamikaze set off against the flow and on the back straight gave
119 Davey Cox a big T-bone. 125 Lee Overy took a fine Granada win ahead
432 Mark Munson and a recovered 119 Cruncher.
A whopping 45 for the consolation which was a massive improvement. 562
Gavin Barnes started by blasting 366 Clive Revell as 391 Ol Matey was
pounded by 404 Luke Brinton and 753 Young Gun while 411 Matthew Franklin
assaulted fellow Ministox graduate 334 Steve Court. 885 Keith Moore
T-boned 585 Big Ears against the flow as 741 Luke Parfitt blew up 287 Paul
Totham and 313 John Cullingford ran in 400 Shinny while a massive pile-up
formed on the top bend. Shinny then belted 404 Spook on the nose but was
nailed in turn by Young Gun as Big Ears hammered Robinson's coupe only to
have 78 Lee Macey run into him by 602 Mr Moody with the stricken coupe
then having Big ears run into him by a recovered 78 Mad Mace. 551 Stuart
Franklin hammered 217 Neil Smyth as the lively 313 Cully put away 580 Ben
Bland and 603 Jon Cooper hit 545 Carl Hough. 741 Capt D motored to the win
with Smyth and 312 Tom Reynolds the placemen.
37 qualifiers returned for the final which was a lively affair starting
with 72 Rob Joyce setting about Mad Mace who crashed up the inner wall as
a result as 560 Andy Potts walled 885 Keith Moore and Smyth T-boned King
allowing 53 Dave Palmer to bury 465 Andy Scarlett into the former as 308
Del Bowen rode up the side of 417 Dan davey. King then blasted Smyth with
a head-on as Mad Mace ran in Scarlett and Bowen again punished Davey as
587 Humps fired up the back of Joyce and 665 Stu Scarlett blasted 312
Turbo. Joyce and 125 Lee Overy enjoyed a head-on allowing Potts to hit the
latter as Turbo thundered in Moore. Davey then turned round to ram Smyth
on the nose as Turbo continued with a shot on 37 Dave Lewis before he
T-boned 807 Chris Murfin. Mad Mace then ran in early leader 4 Mark
Burrroughs a Humps attacked 137 Lee Turner who did well to avoid the wall.
A frantic finish saw Foster bury the leading Davies allowing 741 Capt D to
take over but the race was declared half a lap early when 527 Danny
Gardiner rolled onto his roof, Capt D taking the win ahead of 348 Sonny
Sherwood and Foster.
A fine field of 31 returned for the Accumulator with Perrin getting abused
by 581 Jamie Thompson and Gardiner from the off as a massive pit bend pile
up quickly formed in which Shinny was destroyed impressively by 337 Ashley
Garrod who took a package in turn from 551 Stuart Franklin. 313 Cully the
singled out 19 Joe Mullarkey for a head-on and Thompson nailed 455 Luke
Cornish while 514 Steve Hobbs met 619 Karl Turnbull on the nose. 752 Mad
Sam then blew up 427 Dave Johnson as 619 Rhino returned the favour on
Hobbs. The leading 348 Mushy then blasted 885 Keith Moore as Cully met
Cornish on the nose and Johnson T-boned Hobbs. 753 Young Gun then
delivered a massive package against the flow on Cully before Mad Sam
stopped 119 Cruncher with a solid head-on only to take two big hits from
Foster for his trouble before the reds emerged for Johnson who was in
trouble in the middle of the heap and the event was declared in favour of
Mushy from 22 Dave Vincent with the DD aborted because of the injury.

A fine field of 27 cars gathered for the opening round of the Saloon
Stockcar track championship which included ex banger man 86 Simon Royal,
95 John Lewney, 403 Ashely Foulsham, Ministox graduate 317 Dwayne Powell
and 513 Ross Dawson on their maiden outings in the formula at Mildenhall
while 569 James Radcliffe unveiled a newly repanelled machine with a smart
paint job and 84 Lizzy Crowden-Murfin marked her return to the formula for
the first time in over a year.
All in the for the opener with 2 Paul Tuppen spinning 305 Nigel Parker
from the off as 369 Andy Santry and 417 Fred Powell went round together
before Tuppen lost out to Lewney and 26 Tommy Barnes removed 311 Steve
Newman as brother 912 Andy Newman set the pace. 428 Lee Sampson removed 27
Roy Fuller and a recovered Fred Powell had Royal around as Barnes moved
into the top spot. Steve Newman's bad luck continued as he crashed into
the spun Royal and was subsequently collected by 499 Dave Aldous while 219
Luke Grief had Andy Newman out and Tuppen squeezed Crowden-Murfin into the
inner wall. The leading Barnes then fell foul of a back marking Santry but
he maintained his advantage, such was his lead at this stage as the action
continued with Parker spinning Radcliffe and 156 Darren Goudy removing 220
John Englestone as the lively Parker continued to take out Andy Newman.
Despite slowing dramatically in the final lap Barnes held on for the
spoils with 150 Andy Parrin and 512 Darren Barnett next.
Just one car failed to make the second heat with Fuller spinning Santry
from the off causing the latter to spin Crowden-Murfin and Goudy resulting
in a small pile-up on the home straight. Parker picked up where he left
off turning aside Dawson as 149 Jamie Sampson flicked out Foulsham to move
into second. Royal then put away Steve Newman which caused Barnes to spun
as the leading Andy Newman fell foul of the back marking 438 Tony Lay
gifting Jamie Sampson the advantage and he took the honours with the race
declared a couple of laps early when 377 Mick Oslar shed a wheel.
Radcliffe and Parker were the placemen.
24 returned for the final with Tuppen hitting the wall early doors as
Englestone removed Fuller and Fred Powell spun Barnes who was joined on
the pit bend by Jamie Sampson ruling out any chance of a heat and final
double for both. Englestone continued by poking Santry in the fence as
Aldous had Crowden-Murfin out and the leading Andy Newman spun Fuller who
was collected by in turn by Foulsham. Parker then removed the recovered
Foulsham as 512 Darren Barnett moved into second and set his sights on the
leading Andy Newman who added to Foulsham's misery by spinning him as 419
Luke Grief spun Barnes. Barnes evened the score on Fred Powell as Darren
Barnett reeled in Newman and passed him with a lap to run to win his
second shale final in as many meetings, Radcliffe pipping Newman to the
line in a photo finish for second while behind 511 Craig Barnett spun
Lewney allowing Goudy and Englestone to nip past for seventh and eighth.

An excellent field of 30 Ministox showed for an all RDC bash which
included new signings 347 Sarah Gould, 335 Lorna Annison and 381 Craig
Upson all racing for the first time under their new numbers, the returning
343 Lewis White and the debut of 372 Kyle Tuppen who had a smart looking
motor.
All out for heat one with 371 Jason Cobbold attacking 313 Timmy Barnes
from the off as 323 Stu Bird struck the wall and 387 Olly Ovenden removed
396 Chip Howland. 305 Robin Ash then claimed 310 Chas Lee as 342 Lauren
French shoved 356 Sid Cooper to the wall. 182 Jack Foster took over up
front while Cobbold spun 380 James Jenkins and 369 James Clements had 340
Wesley Freestone round before Foster poked White into the fence allowing
370 Kyle Overy to take over but he crashed out on the back straight
putting Foster back in front and he held on to win ahead of 325 Charlie
Overy and 331 Jack Garrod.
Down to 23 for the second heat with Foster having Lee round causing him to
get hit by 389 Charlie Garrod as Court hit the wall and Jack Garrod fenced
Ash who fired back to spin 318 Emma Powell. Jack Garrod meanwhile took
Cobbold out with the pair piling into the spun Powell as Ovenden hooked
out Howland and Clements put 320 Ben Burbridge in the fence. Charlie
Garrod then spun 391 George Chambers to moved up a spot and Friel took out
Court. Foster meanwhile took an untroubled win with 330 Jack Thompson and
Jack Garrod next.
21 returned for the final with early action seeing Ash spun both Upson and
Clements which claimed Charlie Overy in turn as Charlie Garrod had a pop
at Ovenden who did well to shrug the attack off as Foster's hat trick
hopes were dashed by a spin from Thompson. The race then came to an early
conclusion as Jack Garrod had a go at Cobbold spinning his target but
sending him into the inner wall at a violent rate with the reds coming out
to check the drivers were ok. The leading Annison inherited the victory
ahead of Court (his best finish to date) and Thompson.
Heat one: 182 Jack Foster, 325, 331, 369, 335, 371, 334, 313, 387, 389

A very decent start to the season with a massive turn out of bangers
putting on a lively outing, the heats were pretty forgettable but the
second half of their programme was much better with Shinny's wreck and
some of the Accumulator hits sure to stay in the memory while we were
treated to some fine action from the Saloon Stockcars and Ministox in all
of their races.
