WEBSTER AT LAST!
It’s had to believe that on Saturday when Shaun Webster won heat two
that was his first win in Scotland this year! However it appeared he
liked it so much that he went out and won the final!
BIRTHDAY PRESENT!
Ex-ministox driver Fraser Clark celebrated his birthday on Friday and
just imagine his surprise when he turned up at the Racewall and was told
that there was a car in the pits with his number. Thinking that he would
have to change his number when he registered for the saloons he was
quickly told that it even had his name on it! How quick can you get your
overalls on and into a car – well Fraser is now heading the list.
It appears that his mother and father arranged everything and Gordon
Alexander brought over the hire car ready to rumble!
BACK AGAIN!
It was good to see Lindsey Page back in the saloons after having been on
the sidelines for a few seasons.
Page did alright with his car but ran into mechanical gremlins and
retired from the meeting.
Neil McLaughlin was another back in the fold after telling everyone that
he was too old to race! Anyway Neil goes out in practice and hits
mechanical troubles with the team doing their best to try to rectify the
problem whilst Neil sat in his chair and barked out orders!
CONNER’S HAT TRICK
Derek Conner was in good form in the prostox going through to win three
out of the four races whilst coming home in second in the other after
having been spun.
Conner simply drove away from them all in each of the races but just
didn’t get it right in heat two and lost out!
IN THE FRAME
It was David Frame’s turn to dominate in the stock rods after what has
been a lean time for him this year.
Frame ran away with the opening heat but after the chequer hit a problem
and missed his next race.
When the final started Frame moved into second and then the lead when
the leader’s engine gave way and once he was through into the lead there
was never any danger of him being caught.
